I don’t know about you, but I have tried many different protein shakes and powders. Most are chalky tasting and flavorless. Something you feel necessary to drink, but something you actually just guzzle down without really trying to taste. They all have the same properties to them-mega protein, minimal calories, lots of carbs. I wanted to do something different with this new one besides just drinking it down. Here is my Peanut Butter Shakeology No Bake Freezer Cookies.
So, I was contacted by an old friend who has gotten into the Shakeology business. I think this is the perfect business for her, because she is just pushy enough to get you to do something but not too pushy that you want to punch her. She is about to give birth to her second child and is using Shakeology herself to get her pre-baby body back. I don’t know if you have heard of Shakeology or not, it is pretty prevalent due to Chalene Johnson being a big workout video star. Shakeology is meant to help you with your weight loss and healthy eating, ensuring you are getting essential vitamins and minerals…because how many of us actually eat correctly while training? I so do/did not!!
I got the Vegan Chocolate Shakeology in the mail and knew I would never just drink it. I am not really a daily shake person. When I was training for the half-marathon I had daily protein powder and soy milk, but felt like it was a chore and really did not like how many calories I was taking in with it. Now that I am not training for anything I don’t think it is worth it for me. But, I wanted to do a different take on the no-bake protein cookies that are all over Pinterest.
I decided to do a freezer cookie. I don’t know about all of you, but I love frozen cookies. Especially store-bought ones-Thin Mints are the best frozen (if you read Odelia Grey novels, she agrees), which is pretty much why I gave up chocolate and store-bought cookies…because they are that dang addicting. These cookies though. Perfect for pre-workout and just bland enough not to be addicting.
Bland is not meant as a deterrent to making these. I think that, generally, having something with a little more protein and a little less flavor is what I need as way to not overeat-and I don’t just mean as a workout snack, that is just daily life! For me and my workouts though I do not want super-sugary or big-time snacks pre-workout. I am back to the 5am workouts, so it is either a handful of nuts or a quick slug of soy milk, nothing too time consuming or something I have to take the time to prepare. I give myself so little time to do anything in the morning that a shake wouldn’t do for me. These cookies will be perfect for the walk to the apartment gym-cold and quick.
If you want to give Shakeology a try, feel free to contact my friend Heather @teambeachbody or @myshakeology. I like supporting friends when I can 🙂

Shakeology is not made to heat…. EVER! It ruins the nutrition
