New Years Resolutions – Week 27 Update

So how was your (hopefully) long weekend? Was it filled with lots of fun happenings? Filled with family, fire works, pool time? Filled with wonderful foods? And by filled I mean filled as in way too much food or ate so great I lost weight food? Well, as you have all come to know and love me – eating wonderfully healthy on a weekend to induce weight-loss was not in my cards. It was a great (very long) weekend but I woke up gaining on Saturday morning. Great food, but yeah. No excuses, but I quickly jumped back on the wagon and have been doing good since then. Gotta keep the force with me right? Totally punny, I know – and it keeps up through this whole post! Here is my New Years Resolutions – Week 27 Update.

Be stronger than your strongest excuse! My mom and I had a super-long talk on Saturday while out shopping – we pretty much talked about our weight, weight loss, loss not happening, eating, and different diets the entire time we were in the car. And we were gone all day – like from 10am-5:30ish. Long day. But she has recommitted (not a resolution, but recommittment) to her weight-loss plan and had a sit down with my dad to talk about the kind of support she needs. Very proud of her. It helped me recommit to my own resolution and come back with a win on losing my gain. I have been consistent since Saturday with my eating and thinking about what I plan to eat and what goes in my mouth. I have been consistently getting up the early a.m. to do the walking tape and doing some type of afternoon workout while my SIL is on vacation. I thought the afternoon would be the hardest since normally when I don’t workout with her I free-fall through food. But I have done good so I am proud of myself, and will keep the power going! Slow and steady wins the weight-loss race right? Aren’t weight-loss support systems awesome?

Sweat More Bitch Less

This one’s pretty accurate for me!

I got the PiYo in the mail but haven’t started it yet – mainly because my SIL isn’t here and I want to do it with her. I don’t want to wuss-out if it is too difficult (as body-weight workouts can be) and then not have confidence in myself again. Also, the SIL is super excited to try it so I want to do it with her. Funner anyway to do new workouts with someone else – the alone, at-home workouts get to be boring and I always convince myself to crap out early. So gonna wait until next Monday to start it. Just FYI if you do order – it’s a tad expensive. I won’t tell you the price – you can go look at all the package deals yourself, but I got the DVDS and Shakeology – and I really think I spent all that moolah on just the Shakeology. Why do they think that a protein powder needs to be that ridiculously expensive? Hmm, questions to ponder. As for the July Challenge – OMG! My thighs are burning – in a good way, but still. They burn. I am able to go right through the mini-workout without stopping still so that is good, but I know soon it will get more difficult and I will need to take a break after each move. Yowza did I choose a leg killer or what?

So – short and sweet again.

So now for the real update:
