New Years Resolutions – Week 29 Update

Not a lot happening here but eating healthy and working out. Had a slow weekend but got out in the yard to help my mom plant some new flowers and spread bark dust. Made sure to walk while watching some fave shows and doing PiYo. Still sore but not as bad thankfully. No job anything going on for me, and coming down to the wire for my current job (I might be ending the last of August). Here is my New Years Resolutions – Week 29 Update.

Make YouWell I ate my Zero Calorie Foods Soup all weekend and I don’t know if I am just retaining water for the heck of it (cause you know your body likes to play nasty tricks on you) or if I didn’t accurately count all my foods and calories but I had a small gain. Nothing to freak myself out about (which let’s just say yay me for that!) but still discouraging! I hate Monday morning gains. It’s something I just come to terms with, but I really hate them. Two steps forward one step back – that is usually how my weekend goes. I think it means I need to get back to hard / vigorous weekend workouts. Cause really, I just half-ass it on the weekends. For example on Sat and Sun I like to do a walking video during my favorite DVR’ed shows (Major Crimes, Longmire, Rizzoli and Isles, and Chopped). But this last weekend I didn’t put a video in just walked in place during the shows. I mean, I did it for the whole show, but seriously it was so dumb – I don’t think I even stepped forward at all, just moved my feet a little. I did something and that counts, but not enough in the long run.

Real PlankAs for PiYo, I am really enjoying. We are still in the first week of the calendar that is provided (we have only worked out 3 evenings this week and last) so we are circling back and doing the same vids from the week before, but it is good because I can actually feel a difference. I wasn’t as sore after the legs as I was the first time. Today is arms (and the vid is only 18ish minutes – can’t beat that) and I can’t wait until tomorrow to see if I am in total shoulder pain like last time. Chalene is in love with triceps push-ups. Like – in. love. It seems like every other move is a triceps push-up or in a plank into a triceps push-up. And I cannot do them, even on my knees! I can barely lower myself two inches so I can’t wait until we have done all the DVDs and see my progress. I will be able to do them correctly eventually! And OMG – are you doing the July Workout Challenge? Am I the only getting killed? I get up in the morning and do the entire thing right after I get up (so I ensure I really do it!) and I am breathless like I have run 10 miles! It is getting tough! I just did 25 jump squats, 60!! jumping jacks, and 25 plank jacks. Seriously – roll out of bed and make yourself do this. It is crazy difficult but so worth it!
