New Years Resolutions – Week 46 Update

Thanksgiving mantra

I have been fighting a cold and insomnia this week, as well as fighting a two pound up and down gain/loss. All of that is annoying and affecting one another. The cold came on last week and then Friday morning I woke up at 1:15am with a sore throat and runny nose and did not go back to sleep until 5:30am – the time I had reset my alarm for. So the first call-in sick day at the new job. Sucky, but there was no way I could drag myself out of bed. Then it was a runny-nosed weekend from there. Here is my New Years Resolutions – Week 46 Update.

I hate getting sick, and calling in sick. Especially calling in sick within the first few months of a new job. Makes me feel flaky, which is not really something that I am. But there was no way around it, 1:15am is not anyones friend. If anyone else has insomnia you know what I mean. But, I tried not to let it stop me. Friday I spent the day vegging and went to the store for cold medicine and orange juice. Saturday I made it out to Whole Foods cause they were having some really good sales and I had a ton of coupons and I left the store with $65 worth of stuff and only paid $25! Whoop whoop for Whole Foods. In case you didn’t know, WF is only of the only stores that will let you use a store coupon, a manufactures coupon, on top of there sale item. As an example they had Zevia on sale (a sugar-free soda) for 2 for $7, Today is another chanceand they had a store coupon for $1.50 off two, and I had a manufacturer coupon for $2 off two so I got two 6-packs of Zevia for $3.50! And at Whole Foods the normal price for one 6-pack is $6.99. Dang good deal.

Anyway, sorry, but sales are exciting. Other than that I made sure to take my running nose to the gym and get workouts in, made sure not to buy anything unhealthy or buy too much of anything since I will be gone for a week. I hate having to throw things out before a vacation cause they will Workout is personalgo bad while your gone, or throwing them out when you get back cause you forgot they were in the fridge. But, yeah for a good week. Obviously didn’t get out and about around town to sight-see, but it was only 35ish degrees in the DC area and my sicky self didn’t want to get sicker before vacation.

I added some positive affirmation sayings this week so we can keep our eyes on the prize – the prize, at least to me, is not going into complete vacation-brain mode when I leave on Saturday. Every time I go on vacation my entire being goes slob and I overeat just because the food is there. It’s awful and I feel like total crap when I get back. This vacation time is even worse, cause it is a food holiday. Tons of food, and none of it healthy, will be around. Wish me luck!
