We are finally into June and since it is seriously summer now, the health and healthy eating comes more to the forefront of people’s minds more than ever. Eating is all about fresh fruits and veggies and bbq-ing. Being healthy revolves around swimming and all things water – or at least wanting to look good in our suits so our health and workouts get amped up. Here is the New Years Resolutions Week 22 Update.
My healthy eating has happened! I am so excited to say that I made it through the first weekend in over a month – with a weight loss!!! Woohoo! So ecstatically happy on Monday morning I could have cried. What made it different? Well food choices, getting out of the house, and then going to bed early on Sunday so I couldn’t eat more. What food choices were different? I bought cucumbers to eat as meals – which means I chop up two cuc’s in a big bowl and use my homemade Balsamic dressing for a dinner that takes awhile to eat for less than 200 calories. This may sound 1. Not substantial, and 2. not very filling, but seriously you have to do what works for you to eat healthy and this does it for me. Big ole bowl of cucumbers is super filling and not something you just chow through either. As for getting out of the house, my mom and I got out and went thrift shopping and boy, oh boy, is it just me or do thrift stores not know that they are supposed to be cheaper than Ross for things. Sheesh – it was a frustrating two hours looking for mirrors that were a reasonable price. Finally found them at Ross. Crazy. But we got out and it did it both some good. And, yes, going to bed early to try to not eat? It works. I need to try it more often!
As for workouts, I have kept up with the after work walking; easier to get done now that it is summer and I get off work at 4. Don’t ask me why the times matter but my brain is wired that things should be done and over with by 5:30 / 6pm. Dumb and weird but true. I got out into the sun a few days to do the walk, which is to say that it was a slower and sweaty walk, but I got and got some vitamin D. Also good since I ran out of the vitamin and have to go buy more. Been doing the Pilates challenge and woowee, it’s tough! Who really can get their hips up and in a straight line and keep them that way and then lift a leg up? Hah! Not me but I keep on trying! Something to do after sweaty walk-about anyway.
