Green Tropical Tofu Smoothie + GIVEAWAY

Vegan and GF SF Green Tofu Tropical SmoothieGreen smoothies are super-popular right now. I don’t if it’s because they are green or because they have greens in them but I thought I would jump on the bandwagon and give one a try. But, because I am me and have to be different my green smoothie will have a special protein in it that you wouldn’t expect. This vegan and gluten-free Green Tropical Tofu Smoothie is the perfect morning pick me up, perfect way to start your morning, and hey! we have another tofu giveaway!

The special protein add-in? Silken tofu! I received some free product coupons from Nasoya with a request to use silken tofu in a smoothie recipe. Have you ever used tofu in a smoothie? My mom and I used to do this a looooong time ago with blueberries. Just milk, silken tofu, Splenda, and blueberries. But for this green smoothie I wanted to tropical this thing up. Instead of using a powdery tasting protein powder, we will get our protein from tofu. And why not – it’s flavorless and is perfect to make things creamy. Which I have proven over, and over again in savory recipes. This sweet recipe is the perfect green sweet. AND! Nasoya is so awesome they wanted to give away some free-product coupons!

Vegan and GF SF Green Tofu Tropical SmoothieOne special reader will receive two (2) free product coupons from Nasoya. All you have to do is tell me in the comments below what type of green smoothie you would add silken tofu to. Contest closes Friday, May 15th. One winner will be chosen from the comments below on Saturday, May 16th.

Vegan and GF SF Green Tofu Tropical SmoothieStart by dumping the tofu, spinach, and draining the pineapple juice into the blender. Turn on and blend until liquid – blending the spinach first ensures that you won’t taste the spinach later. Turn off then add everything else. Blend until smoothie consistency. Enjoy! See? So simple and healthy. Normally I love my smoothies so thick that you need a spoon to consume them – kind of like ice cream. But this one was super loose, and if I had a straw I could have sucked it back. A perfect morning drink before heading to work!

  1. How about a tofu mango lassi? 1/2 pkg tofu, 1 ripe mango, 1 large handful of kale, 1 tsp. of cardamom, a splash of rose water, and approx. 6 to 8 oz. of very cold water. I use a nutriblast type of machine for my smoothies. If you feel like you need a bit of sweetener, I add a touch of maple syrup. I personally would drink the who thing, but this could easily serve 2. Yum!

  2. Hmm…I’m not sure what kind of smoothie I would make but it would definitely have spinach. I love spinach in smoothies.

  3. I love smoothies! I like to add blueberries, spinach, broccoli stems, protein powder sometimes…Thank you so much for the chance to win.

  4. I love throwing tofu into smoothies for some added protein! 😀 I made a strawberry pineapple tofu smoothie that I really loved a while back! :]
