Oh how I love losing. It is a blessing to wake up each morning and see the scale drop (yes … I weigh every morning). I think I have said this before but my day lives and dies by that scale. If it loves me and wants me to have a great day, then a loss (even just 2 ounces) is enough to make me sing and be perfectly fine doing push-ups as a workout. If it hates me and wants me to second-guess all my decisions and have really bad self-doubt then the scale goes up. It is probably a sickness this whole weighing daily thing. Here is my New Years Resolutions – Week 28 Update.
HA! You probably thought this was going to be all Debbie Downer didn’t you? Nope, not this week. After last weeks regrouping of the resolutions I have not only lost weight, but I have a phone interview! What? Two good things in one week. Whoop whoop! I kept on track with the working out and eating healthy last week, had a slip up on the weekend but not as bad as most weekends and I didn’t let it go to my head which is my biggest accomplishment! Then had a big loss on Tuesday and have kept it up. I have been religious with using the MyFitnessPal app, which I use anyway but have gotten back into the habit of actually inputting each thing I input into my mouth. And really, it’s tough because I don’t want to admit to myself I needed that handful of dry-roasted and salted almonds. I mean – they are healthy right? Hmph. But I did it and it’s helping me to focus. Yay! As for the interview, it’s for a job in DC which is okay, and it went well I think. So fingers crossed something happens for me good on that route.
The SIL is back and ready for PiYo and man, we are working. I have been sweating through the two videos we have done so far. We did the upper body and lower body DVDs and since it’s all body-weight only (no hand weights or anything) my muscles are totally being used and abused. It’s fun, and Chalene goes slow and easy through each process and move so that it doesn’t really feel like a workout – until you get a Charlie-horse in the butt cheek. Yep, there is one move during the upper-body DVD where you are in a piked-plank position then you lift your leg up and rotate your hip – oh. Wow. It hurt so bad I had to stop and rub it. Not a fun place for a cramp to happen! But I am feeling stronger and not as sore as I thought I would be, but I don’t think we have gotten to the hard or intensive DVDs yet. I will keep you posted on how it goes. Oh and for the July Challenge? Don’t skip a day and then make them both up on the same morning. OMG people, 16 squat jumps is hard enough but 32 squat jumps then 80 jumping jacks then 32 plank jacks? I am dumb. Never doing that again!
