So what does a person do, who normally has large weight-gain weekends over normal weekends, with a three-day weekend? Well, I had plans to go see an old friend in Baltimore on Saturday but it was some crappy weather going on and my sight-seeing day got canceled. So my long weekend turned into me just sitting around and not doing a lot of anything. That may sound boring to some but this is the first weekend in a while where I have not felt pressured to get out, visit things, to just laze about. Here is my New Years Resolutions – Week 41 Update.
The weekend actually turned out really good, if a little long. When your plans for a semi-full weekend get canceled you find a way to be productive in some other way. I cleaned my apartment and watched all four Lethal Weapon movies – that’s kind of pathetic but it was hilarious to watch them all again, since it has been years and years since I watched any of them. I also started my Christmas gifts, deciding that this year, since I am not making a lot of money, I will be crafting my way through the holidays. I got pretty far, four people done and another halfway there – that was the truly productive part. And best of all? I didn’t gain any real weight!
Me, the person who gains weight when I look at chips and candy for too long only gained one pound the entire weekend! And that is with no working out. Not only was I lazy with my do-nothing weekend, I was lazy by not working out! I made myself get to the gym on Sunday for a 30-minute slow treadmill walk, but that was it. But, I jumped back on the workout wagon bright and early Tuesday morning with weights and a little cardio. Overall, not a bad weekend, the most restful one I have had since moving.
Hope you had a great weekend!
